anyone would like to speak for the doctors??

copied this entire article from confession of a medical student , which i would like to share with anyone out there

Doktor cuma 'berdiam' bila rakyat kritik khidmat mereka

Oleh AZMAN ANUAR
rencana@utusan.com.my

Tetapi akhirnya lain pula cerita sebenarnya.

Inilah bahana apabila membuat tuduhan tanpa usul periksa.

Profesion doktor cukup mulia.

Namun, kita belum lagi mendengar doktor menjerit marah kerana kepenatan.

========================================================
please allow me to voice out my humble views
i believe most doctors still hold firm to this quote "1st do no harm".....
we are not any robotic machine nor computer-cyborg....we just like any other human being, same as our beloved patient; we need rest, we need caring and love, we will fall sick as well....
we are passionate to be a doctor, but that doesn't mean we should be treated less than a human. life are precious and priceless, everyone knew that and i believe each hospital staff will work their best in surviving every life..
or maybe i m sound naive in this complicated world? correct me if i m wrong :)

A Brilliant Conversation

read it from forwarded mails from my friend, and wish to share with u all. maybe it will enlighten ur day :D

Subject: A Brilliant Conversation/ must read to finish

An Atheist Professor of Philosophy was speaking to his Class on the problem Science has with GOD, the ALMIGHTY. He asked one of his new Christian students to stand and...

Professor : You are a Christian, aren't you, son?
Student : Yes, sir..
Professor : So, you believe in GOD?
Student : Absolutely, sir.
Professor : Is GOD good?
Student : Sure.
Professor : Is GOD ALL - POWERFUL?
Student : Yes.
Professor : My Brother died of cancer even though he prayed to GOD to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But GOD didn't. How is this GOD good then? Hmm?

(Student was silent)

Professor : You can't answer, can you? Let's start again, young fella. Is GOD Good?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Is Satan good?
Student : No.
Professor : Where does Satan come from?
Student : From...GOD.. .
Professor : That's right. Tell me son, is there evil in this World?
Student : Yes.
Professor : Evil is everywhere, isn't it? And GOD did make everything. Correct?
Student : Yes.
Professor : So who created evil?

(Student did not answer)

Professor : Is there Sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the World, don't they?
Student : Yes, sir.
Professor : So, who created them?

(Student had no answer)

Professor : Science says you have 5 Senses you use to Identify and Observe the World around you. Tell me, son...have you ever seen GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Tell us if you have ever heard your GOD?
Student : No, sir.
Professor : Have you ever Felt your GOD, Tasted your GOD, Smelt your GOD? Have you ever had any Sensory Perception of GOD for that matter?
Student : No, sir. I'm afraid I haven't.
Professor : Yet you still believe in HIM?
Student : Yes.
Professor : According to Empirical, Testable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says your GOD doesn't exist. What do you say to that, son?
Student : Nothing. I only have my Faith.
Professor : Yes, Faith. And that is the problem Science has.

Student : Professor, is there such a thing as Heat?
Professor : Yes.
Student : And is there such a thing as Cold?
Professor : Yes.
Student : No, sir. There isn't...

(The Lecture Theatre became very quiet with this turn of events)

Student : Sir, you can have Lots of Heat, even More Heat, Superheat, Mega Heat, White Heat, a Little Heat or No Heat. But we don't have anything called Cold. We can hit 458 Degrees below Zero which is No Heat, but we can't go any further after that. There is no such thing as Cold.
Cold is only a Word we use to describe the Absence of Heat. We cannot Measure Cold. Heat is Energy. Cold is Not the Opposite of Heat, sir, just the Absence of it.

(There was pin-drop dilence in the Lecture Theatre)

Student : What about Darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as Darkness?
Professor : Yes. What is Night if there isn't Darkness?

Student : You're wrong again, sir. Darkness is the Absence of Something. You can have Low Light, Normal Light, Bright Light, Flashing Light... But if you have No Light constantly, you have nothing and its called Darkness, isn't it? In reality, Darkness isn't. If it is, you would be able to make Darkness Darker, wouldn't you?

Professor : So what is the point you are making, young man?
Student : Sir, my point is, your Philosophical Premise is flawed.
Professor : Flawed? Can you explain how?

Student : Sir, you are working on the Premise of Duality. You argue there is Life and then there is Death, a Good GOD and a Bad GOD. You are viewing the Concept of GOD as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, Science can't even explain a Thought. It uses Electricity and
Magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one. To view Death as the Opposite of Life is to be ignorant of the fact that Death cannot exist as a Substantive Thing.
Death is Not the Opposite of Life: just the Absence of it Now tell me, Professor, do you teach your Students that they evolved from a Monkey?

Professor : If you are referring to the Natural Evolutionary Process, yes, of course, I do.
Student : Have you ever observed Evolution with your own eyes, sir?

(The Professor shook his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the
argument was going)

Student : Since no one has ever observed the Process of Evolution at work and Cannot even prove that this Process is an On-Going Endeavor, Are you not teaching your Opinion, sir? Are you not a Scientist but a Preacher?

(The Class was in uproar)

Student : Is there anyone in the Class who has ever seen the Professor's brain?

(The Class broke out into laughter)

Student : Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor's brain, felt it, touched or smelt it?... No one appears to have done so. So, according to the Established Rules of Empirical, Stable, Demonstrable Protocol, Science says that you have No Brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?

(The Room was silent. The Professor stared at the student, his face unfathomable)

Professor : I guess you'll have to take them on Faith, son.
Student : That is it sir...Exactly!

The Link between Man & GOD is FAITH.
That is all that Keeps Things Alive and Moving.

NB:

I believe you have enjoyed the Conversation. ..and if so...

You'll probably want your friends/colleagues to enjoy the same... won't you?
Forward them to Increase their Knowledge... or FAITH.

That student was ALBERT EINSTEIN.

a funny joke~

It's possible you may hv read or heard this before ..... sort of reflects on our PM and his Ministers ..

Abdullah Badawi was visiting Singapore and during a meeting with Brigadier Lee, he commented to him that he was so disappointed with his cabinet people for being stupid, and asked him how he managed to have such an efficient cabinet in Singapore.

PM Lee said, 'Simple, Abdullah, I choose able men for my cabinet. Abdullah asked, 'Yes, but how do you know that they are able?'

PM Lee replied : Just ask them simple questions to test their intelligence.
They don't need to be too difficult. Let me illustrate to you.'

Just then, DPM Tony Tan was walking by, PM Lee called out to him, 'Hey Tony, come over here.Tony walked briskly over and PM Lee asked, 'Tell me, Tony, who is your
father's son ?'

Tony Tan immediately replied, 'Me ! Of course.' PM Lee turned to Abdullah and said, 'See, all my ministers can answer such questions. Why don't you go back and try?'

Abdullah thanked PM Lee and left for Putra Jaya.Once he was back, he immediately summoned Home Minister Syed Hamid, and shot the question at him, 'Tell me, Hamid, who is your father's son?'

Syed Hamid was shocked beyond words and did not know the answer. After a while, he recovered and said, 'Boss, let me find out and I'll tell you tomorrow.'

Abdullah, a bit disappointed, agreed, hoping that Syed Hamid will give him the answer the next day.

Meanwhile, Syed Hamid was panicking that the PM was testing him. He tried desperately to find out the answer from his staff, but none of them knew the answer.

The next morning, he thought a smart guy like Anwar must know the answer. So he phoned and when Anwar picked up the phone, Syed Hamid said: 'Hello, Anwar !!, I want to ask you a question. If you do not willingly give me the answer, I shall have you detained under the ISA.'

Anwar then agreed reluctantly and Syed Hamid asked: 'Tell me, who is
your father's son?'

Anwar who was fuming at having been threathened over such a trivial question replied: 'Of course it's me, you stupid!' and he slammed the phone down.

Satisfied that he got the answer, Syed Hamid confidently walked into Abdullah's office and said: 'Boss, I've got the answer to your question.'

Abdullah, happy that his minister wasn't that dumb, said, 'So tell me quickly Hamid, who is your father's son?'

Syed Hamid confidently replied, 'It's ANWAR!'

Abdullah slapped his own forehead in disgust and said: ' No you stupid ! It's TONY TAN !'

*如果你也正在为爱迷惘,或许下面这段话可以给你一些启示:
爱一个人,要了解,也要开解;
要道歉,也要道谢;
要认错,也要改错;
要体贴,也要体谅;
是接受,而不是忍受;
是宽容,而不是纵容;
是支持,而不是支配;
是慰问,而不是质问;
是倾诉,而不是控诉;
是难忘,而不是遗忘;
是彼此交流,而不是凡事交代;
而不是向对方诸多要求;
可以浪漫,但不要浪费;

The Goo Tolerance Index

Gooiness Reference of Selected Specialties Scale (GROSSS)just for fun, don't take it seriously =P

Low-goo specialties (score 1–3)

Psychiatry

Very little goo is involved, unless you count emotional goo.

Radiology

Practically goo-free. You get to sit around in a sterile office all day looking at pictures of goo, but you never have to touch it. Your Italian loafers do not get stinky.

Neurology

You do have to touch people, but most of the time their bodily fluids are not leaking all over you. (If they are, call the neurosurgeon.)

Moderate-goo specialties (score 4–6)

Family medicine

Lots of mucus, earwax and toe jam, with an occasional smattering of pus and vomit. Overall, though, the goo tends to be stable and relatively odour-free. Also, it is interspersed with enough insurance forms to minimize the impact.

Internal medicine

A little gooier than family medicine. If you do not enjoy the tangy aroma of infectious diarrhea, stay away from this specialty.

Pediatrics

Patients are often very gooey and have not gained full goo-control. However, they are relatively easy to tolerate because the goo has not had 75 years to fester.

High-goo specialties (score 7–9)

All surgical specialties

Surgery is perfect for those who like to be up to their elbows in goo. When goo gets explosive — think projectile vomiting, arterial spray, or tense, pus-filled abscesses — who do you think they're going to call? (Not the psychiatrist, I can assure you.)

Note: Be wary of surgical specialties such as ophthalmology that try to fool you by assigning pretty names to their goo, such as "aqueous humour" and "vitreous humour." Let's be honest: when a nail gun meets an eyeball, there is nothing humorous about it — it's just aqueous goo and vitreous goo.

Emergency medicine

This specialty is made worse by the fact that the goo is entirely unpredictable. The emergency physician can be relaxing with a Bratwurst sandwich one minute and picking someone's intestines off the floor the next.

Dermatology

This is a specialty for the true goo connoisseur. Dermatologists delight in taking photos of the gooiest lesions they can find, then presenting them in slide shows with catchy titles such as "101 really cool penile warts."

Extreme-goo specialties (score ≥ 10)

Pathology

If festering abscesses and explosive melena are not gooey enough for you, this specialty is a perfect choice. Pathology is the only specialty where you get to work with decomposing, bug-infested goo and use words such as "putrefaction" and "necrosis." Plus you get to solve murders single-handedly and hang out with all those hot-looking crime-scene investigators.

Conclusion
so....what do you think of this goo tolerance index? how gooiness you are?

倒數

i read a nice article forward by my friend and i would like to share with everyone~
